Court grants Portable N300,000 bail; case adjourned till April 26

The court granted him bail to the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in the same amount.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable has been granted bail by a Magistrate Court sitting in Ifo, Ifo local government area of Ogun State.

The Zazu singer was arraigned in court this morning, April 3, on a three-count charge bordering on assault and theft of musical equipment.

The court granted him bail to the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in the same amount. The court ruled that both sureties must have landed properties near the court.

The judge ruled that Portable is to remain at the Ilaro correctional center until he meets the bail condition, and adjourned the case to April 26.

Meanwhile, popular legal practitioner, Inibehe Effiong, has stated that controversial singer, Portable was the nightmare of every lawyer because he is a difficult client.

Recall that the singer resisted arrest after some men of the police command stormed his bar to arrest him for failing to honor several invitations sent to him on Tuesday.

Reacting to the standoff going on between the police and the singer, and his revelation that he purposely ignored the request to come in, the lawyer took to his Facebook page to claim that the singer is the kind of client who will act and speak in a way that is contrary to a lawyer’s plan of action.

He wrote;

β€œWhen it comes to having problematic, difficult, and deviant clients, Portable is every lawyer’s nightmare. He is the type of client that will be doing things and making comments that are counter productive to a lawyer’s strategy.”
