Google is providing entrepreneurs in Nigeria and other countries in Africa with roughly N259 million to use artificial intelligence to solve problems. Participants will gain access to Google’s AI expertise and technical resources, including $350,000 in Google Cloud Credits, as well as essential networking opportunities, according to the company.
It stated that the project acknowledged the disruptive role AI plays on a global scale. Google also emphasized the significance of the contributions made by African companies in Africa in addressing some of the most pressing problems facing the continent. The corporation disclosed that the AI First program was created to aid companies in exploring the potential of AI. The core goal is still to encourage and advance African-driven solutions, building on the success of previous programs including Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa, the Google for Startups Black Founders Fund, and The Google for Startups Accelerator: Women Founders.

He said that entrepreneurs must submit an application by September 6 on the Google Accelerator website. According to Google, 106 startups from 17 different African nations have received support from the Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa Program.

According to Usherloaded Media, among the 40 tech companies named for Google’s $4 million Black Founders Fund, about 10 Nigerian startups have been chosen. Nigerian startups led the list of startups from Europe and Africa, with 25 startups from Africa making up this year’s cohort. The Black Founders Fund is reportedly in its third year and is sponsored by internet behemoth Google for Startups.
